Perfect pair for your WEDDING!!

here is romance in the air when a wedding takes place. Many feet will also be up there in the air. Fewer will be on the ground! It is time for fantasies to come alive, dreams to be realized and brides to be dressed from head to toe. So what about wedding shoes, how beautiful will they be and be picked up from where and most of all who will design them?

Frankly today it is easier to fetch the wedding shoes online, look at picture books and get them custom made and also fly across the continent and get a few pairs. Are the wedding/reception gown, sari and other clothes in place? It is much easier to choose when the dress is ready especially for the bride.
The most important accessory of dressing is the footwear. For the various outfits, there is a variety of footwear, but shoes are universal type, that has the maximum in terms of choice. From sports to formal to casual, from leather to cloth, there are all kinds of material and styles.

Shoes are also country-specific. InIndia it is commonly said, “One can know the class of a person by looking at his or her shoes.”
Bridal shoes don’t have to be special but they definitely have to be striking enough to blend with the bridal dress or gown that will be worn. Of course they come in the special category of designer shoes, as they may not be worn with other party outfits. Internationally there are several companies catering to only bridal shoes. Over the years they have perfected the art of making them more comfortable.

Usually to match the ivory gown or white gown materials that are used for bridal shoes are satin or silk in shape of ballerina shoes. Hey are most comfortable when the brides have to dance. Some enterprising young brides do go in for low heels (maybe because of the short height!) but as long as they are able to carry off and spend the D-day easily without having to kick away the heels then it is fine. In India hours long ceremonies during marriages mean that the bride will need comfortable slip-ons. For one part she will have to sit for long and then wear them to another part of the ceremony. What’s more in India embroidered outfits need handling too. So few brides will be able to lo down on the feet care.

Brides in India wear usually red ghagara cholis saris or salwars. Gold or silver sandals, slippers or strappy shoes are ideal. Also in large gatherings they are a tendency of shoes getting lost. So having an extra pair of wedding shoes is also advisable.

As for others they could go for a combination of fashion and comfort. Ladies wear those high heals only with good skirts and if you have good legs to carry them. No one wants to see a wobbly pair of feet waiting for on a fine occasion like a wedding. Plenty of choices from leather, suede, silk and other materials are available for shoes. And if you are part of the baarat and will dance wear flat embroidered jutis. They will let you dance away without the stress.

A nice tip especially for the bride would be to match her embroidered evening handbag with shoes! The idea has been quite a buzz about a bride choosing to use color for her shoes. Infact, the bride can embrace the color concept and match the flowers with the shoes. Please don’t mix western shoes with Indian dresses. Fusions don’t work on all occasions. Wedding is definitely not the occasion for this mix but matching will certainly rock!

Stiletto Fantasy

Oh, the Stiletto. How I love you! High heel shoes were worn by men and women courtiers. The design of the stiletto heel originally came from the late Kristin S. Wagner but would not become popular until the late 1950s. The stiletto heel came with the advent of technology using a supporting metal shaft or stem embedded into the heel, instead of wood or other, weaker materials that required a wide heel. This revival of the opulent heel style can be attributed to the designer Roger Vivier and such designs became very popular in the 1950s.

Take a look in any shoe store right now and you will see they are packed with vertiginous heels stretching to their, four and even five inches high. They don't make for easy walking I can tell you. But now we are being warned of a much more serious danger posed by sky high shoes than just a trip or embarrassing tumble in the street.

The irrefutable sign that you've found the perfect pair of shoes? They magically breath new life into any number of garments that have been hanging more-or-less unloved in you closet. They look as fantastic with a pair of skinny jeans and fitted navy blue blazer as they do with a black pencil skirt and ruffled silk blouse.

When you want to look your absolute best, you need to wear the best. You need a brand that expresses style so luxurious and perfect that people automatically know the name behind the design. And when your pursuit for amazing style takes you to your need for shoes, you can look for that mystical perfection in high heel stiletto shoes. Stiletto style shoes are one of the most known styles, earning longstanding respect as one of the finest fashions in the industry.

If you want to make a statement with you image, then you’ll want to make sure you make that statement with the help of a gorgeous pair of stilettos. You can actually make a wide range of statements thanks to the luxurious variety they offer, including stiletto pumps, stiletto high heels, stiletto boots, metal stilettos and more. The choice is yours, and when you choose from strictly stiletto, it’s impossible to go wrong. You see, the stiletto style is named after a type of short knife or dagger that features a long and thin blade. As a part of that, this style will always be on the cutting edge of new fashion. However, high heel stiletto shoes are also amazing in their ability to honor retro and classic styles as well, granting a truly varied and beautiful line of shoes and heels.

A version of the stiletto heel was reintroduced as soon as 1974 by Manolo Blahnik, who dubbed his "new” heel the Needle. Similar heels were stocked at the big Biba store in London, by Russell and Bromley and by smaller boutiques. Old, unsold stocks of pointed-toe stilettos, and contemporary efforts to replicate them (lacking the true stiletto heel because of changes in the way heels were by then being mass-produced) were sold in street fashion markets and became popular with punks, and with other fashion "tribes" of the late 1970s until supplies of the inspirational original styles dwindled in the early 1980s. Subsequently, round-toe shoes with slightly thicker (sometimes cone-shaped) semi-stiletto heels, often very high in an attempt to convey slenderness (the best example of this being the shoes sold in London by Derber), were frequently worn at the office with wide-shouldered power suits. The style survived through much of the 1980s but almost completely disappeared during the 1990s, when professional and college-age women took to wearing shoes with thick, block heels. However, the slender stiletto heel staged a major comeback after 2000, when young women adopted the style for dressing up office wear or adding a feminine touch to casual wear, like jeans.

Stiletto heels are particularly associated with the image of the femme fatale. They are often considered to be a seductive item of clothing, and often feature in popular culture.
Stiletto heels undoubtedly concentrate a large amount of force into a small area. The great pressure transmitted through such a heel (allegedly greater than that exerted by an elephant standing on one foot can cause damage to carpets and floors. The stiletto heel will also sink into soft ground, making it impractical for outdoor wear on grass.

Sri Lankan Fashion insight!!

Well, If I ask you what you think about Sri Lankan fashion what would be your answer.? Obviously now you are trying to imagine something about Sri Lankan fashion and the imagination might be something modern which is so westernized but this should not be the definition or the imagination as a Sri Lankan we should have. Sri Lankan traditional clothes are available and they are called as National dress (Sarong and a collarless shirt for men)  and Osari for women. For kids Sri Lankans have a special dress called Lama Sarie which does not have the wale of the osari. (lama sarie means kids' sarie)
 National dress
  Osari

 Kids' Saree (lama Saree)

Sri Lankan does not tend much to modify these traditional dress codes into modern fashions. But for some extent we can see on special occasions such as weddings etc. the new generation tend to modernize it.

Most of the time Sri Lankans are into modern European fashion trends and anything they adopt it very quickly. Even local celebrities, show presenters, kids almost everyone likes to adopt which have been introduced in the international market. Specially Hollywood and Bollywood trends capture the heart of all of the youngsters in Sri Lanka.

Even local designers follow the international trends and we could not see any local trends apart from traditional dress codes have been introduced to the local fashion market.

So what can we do to come out from this? Is it good to adopt these trends or not? If we think broadly even-though we are satisfied with the clothes and fashion a huge money goes out from the country. But we could not see a direct solution of saving these money to develop the fashion industry or the garment industry since we export clothes but never stitch clothes for our selves. This situation is taking place more than decades and a direct solution has not been taken up to now.
